Supporting young adults on the autism spectrum who are able to live independently is a crtical challenge in many communities. Pursuing Our Indepdence Together (POINT) is a program operated by Westchester Jewish Community Services that helps these young adults build community. All POINT participants live in their own apartments. POINT provides the counseling, social support and 24/7 contact to make sure the participants are safe and engaged as they pursue their independence. POINT arranges trips and social activities and provides training in a range of life skills. Participants are connected to each other and to their community in a way that would be hard to arrange on their own. Parents have the peace of mind knowing their children are safe and active.

Learn about POINT and how to create the community in your community.
